If you're participating in the 21 Day Lower Blood Sugar Challenge, the daily check ins will be posted each day.

Although we encourage you to monitor your blood sugar levels and report, if you’re not doing that, you can also report:

  • your food diary
  • a meal
  • ask a question
  • share a struggle
  • or simply say: ‘hi, I’m checking in for the day.’

The idea is, we want you to get involved and participate as much as possible, for the entire 21 day

Just scroll right down to the bottom and enter your numbers/comments in the comment box, then click on ‘post comment.'

NOTE: If you check the box, ‘Notify me of followup comments via e-mail,' you will receive all the follow up comments for the days check in. Since there are often a lot of follow up comments, be prepared to receive many emails. You can unsubscribe from the check in follow up emails if you choose – look for the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the check in follow up emails. If you do not wish to subscribe, and avoid receiving all the emails (recommended), you can simply check back here and read through the comments and replies.

    FBS 109

2 bowls of vegetable soup (tomato, celery, carrot, onion) for breakfast. After breakfast, BS got shot up to 190. It’s difficult to understand why.

BS of 134 this morning, with a doctor visit and result of my A1C of 5.7. For the past year I have been staying just under 100 carbs per day and a year ago BS was 11.1. Also learned to manage portion control as well and workout 3 days a week and walk 7,000 to 10,000 steps

I took this challenge to try to find different recipes and help with lowering the morning numbers. And I have learned a few things I didnt know as well as ideas for lowering the morning, which may be a slow process, since I am having problems taking the apple cider vinegar in the evening.

Checking in with a question! When is a good time to take supplements Luke cinnamon, fish oil, turmeric, chromium, etc.? In the morning before a meal? At night time before bed? I take in morning with protein drink so just wondering if that is when I’ll get the most benefits!

Hi Celeste, it depends on the supplement but usually with meals is best. Time of day really does not matter.

Checking in Day 18 I seemed to have settled again. 7.0 2 hours after meal and about 80 carbs during day.

If I can stay at this level I am happy with this. Maybe not as strict as you would have wished I struggle to get below 70 carbs in a day. I think I will try this again after Christmas it will give me a boost to keep trying and maybe even get better readings.

Checking in. Today I started in on my pantry, checking the carb count and setting aside the higher carb options to donate to the food pantry. My most difficult but most rewarding moment-putting a half full container of spice drops in the trash without eating even one! There are healthier and more enjoyable ways to eat 25 carbs than in 7 spice drops!
