Low Carb Diabetic Chocolate Milkshake

Thatโ€™s rightโ€ฆjust because youโ€™re diabetic, does not mean you canโ€™t enjoy a sensational chocolate milkshake. To say this milkshake is awesome is an under statement!

Itโ€™s creamy, sweet, filling, and delicious. You really wouldnโ€™t know that itโ€™s a much healthier version of such a โ€˜naughtyโ€™ treat because it tastes just as naughty โ€“ but itโ€™s entirely sugar free.

Iโ€™ve recently discovered chocolate flavored stevia extract. Itโ€™s chocolate flavor is so rich and really makes things taste chocolate without adding chocolate โ€“ it even fooled my partner into enjoying this milkshake!

He was also surprised to learn that the milkshake contained avocado.

Avocado is not something youโ€™d typically think of putting in a milkshake but this is what gives it the smooth, creamy texture, and fills it with healthy fats to fuel your afternoon โ€“ well, thatโ€™s if you were to have it for an afternoon treat.

Chocolate Milkshake Comparison

A 12 floz./ 350 ml typical thick chocolate milkshake comes in at a whopping 72 g total carbs, 1 g fiber, 71 g net carbs.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk โ€“ or almond milk, soy, or coconut
  • 1 cup Water โ€“ cold water if possible
  • 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 large avocado
  • 7 tsp. equiv. chocolate flavored stevia extract โ€“ follow the package label for teaspoon equiv. measurement
  • 2 ice cubes
US Customary โ€“ Metric

Instructions

  • Blend everything together in a blender or food processor until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour into 2 glasses and enjoy.
