In episode 87 of the Type 2 Diabetes Talk podcast, we talked about prediabetes remission.
Prediabetes remission is defined by the following criteria:
- A normal fasting glucose is below 100 mg/dL or below 5.6 mmol/L
- A normal A1c level is below 5.7% or below 39 mmol/mol
- A normal postprandial blood glucose level is below 140 or below 7.8
- All of the above, plus no glucose-lowering medication for at least 3 months – for most people with prediabetes, that means being off Metformin as that’s the most common med prescribed.

1. Jeanette Returns to Normal in 4 Months

3. Don Returns to Normal Glucose in 4 Months

4. Paul Returns to Normal Glucose in 4 Months

Paul was diagnosed with prediabetes and took the Prediabetes Reset Program. My A1c is now back in the normal range, I lost 5-6 pounds in weight and my blood pressure has improved. It used to be around 140/90, but now it’s down to 117/72.

5. Susan Returns to Normal Glucose in 4 Months
After taking the Prediabetes Reset Program, Susan lowered A1c from 6 to 5.7 and her husband from 6 to 5.5.
Susan also saw improvements in cholesterol levels and took a lot away from the program to help her treat her prediabetes naturally at 71!

6. Cheryl’s Prediabetes in Remission After 1 Year

I have struggled a lot with the “supposed” healthy diet recommendations, and over the years I have been on every diet known to man. One day my doctor told me that I was prediabetic. My A1c was 6.1. All he told me was to “cut back on sugar” and take 1000 units of metformin once a day. Then he sent me home – that was it! I kept questioning: How do I actually eat??? That is when I found Diabetes Meal Plans (DMP).
After only one year, all of my numbers are way down. My A1c is within normal range – 5.6. Cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure are all normal (they were on the high side before). And I lost weight (21 pounds/ 9.5 kg) – something I have been trying to do for years, and never could!
Fast forward another six months: Last week I went in for my yearly physical and my A1c was 5.5! The doctor had told me that if I could keep my A1c under 5.7 for a year he would take me off metformin. So… I’m off metformin and you could say that I’m not prediabetic anymore!
7. Ann’s Glucose to Normal in 4 Months

As a result of the information and encouragement I received from Dr. Jedha and the DMP program, I went from an A1c of 6.3 in February to an A1c of 5.8 in April — another month later it went down to 5.7!
The program works! I am so grateful for this program in helping me regain a sense of empowerment.

8. Ann Marie Returns to Normal Glucose in 16 Weeks
The DMP approach is educational and positive. I learned so much and a sense of possibility prevailed. I kept a food diary and did finger sticks to measure blood sugar before and after meals, and recognized the value of all that was recommended.
