Will the sugar substitutes like Stevia (aspartame) not have a bad effect in our body in the long run?
Jedha
Stevia and aspartame are two very different substances Christine. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener and yes, research has shown it can be harmful. On the other hand, stevia is a plant, and so far there is no research to show any negative effects. And it may even be beneficial.
Christine
Thanks, Jedha! I read further about it. I didn’t know before that there are now plant sweeteners. I have been recently diagnosed with T2D. For someone who originally liked sweet food, it has been very difficult for me. This information about Stevia is good to know.

MMm, yum. Hope you enjoy it Brewster!
Only one glass for you, none for many. You’re one of the lucky ones. But then again, you already had good control to begin and that’s the key! Keep up the great work Brewster. :)

Wow, wife asked me to print these, done. BTW my nightly glass of red wine is working well on my numbers, now in the high 4’s. My DR. agrees with it as does the diabetic assoc’s
Jedha
Goodo Brewster. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them. Good to hear the wine works for you. BUT it definitely does not work for everyone. Another person who tried this recently had their blood sugar skyrocket. This is just another example of why you need to understand your own body – and monitor of course.
